GP Masters to miss Monza

Prodrive aren’t the only people suffering at the hand of a group of local busybodies with nothing better to do. Now the Monza circuit has been forced to cancel its round of the Grand Prix Masters series due to complaints from locals about noise levels.

The chief villain in this piece is Judge Marco Manunta who upheld the complaints of a small group of local residents, claiming motor racing is a “superfluous, dangerous and socially useless activity that had a major impact on the environment”. Nice to see he’s capable of being impartial. Not that many Italians would agree with that sentiment.

Monza have previously been forced to cancel Formula 3000 and le Mans Series races for the same reason. The Formula One Grand Prix is not believed to be under threat.
