Ayrton Senna Road

Listening to the radio this morning I was surprised to learn that there is a road named after Ayrton Senna in Reading. The residential road was apparently named for the three times champion because he had a house in Wokingham during his McLaren years. The radio caller complained that the road was inappropriately covered in speed bumps.

It got me wondering if other famous drivers had places named after them in Britain, but a cursory search threw up nothing – no Jim Clarks, Jackie Stewarts or Nigel Mansells. Not even a Graham Hill Hill!

Do you know of any other places named for F1 drivers?

  1. Have you seen this thread: http://forums.autosport.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=51297&perpage=100&display=&pagenumber=1

Plenty of streets named after drivers. I particularly like Graham Hill

  2. Yes I’ve been past the sign many times. To think it’s nearly 17 years since his death; in the UK you have to be 17 to be able to drive which is why it’s poignant.
