Spa pit lane fears realised

The concerns over the narrowness of Spa-Francorchamps’ new pit lane were realised this morning following the second GP2 race.

Following the race Racing Engineering’s Javier Villa stopped in the new pit lane and none of the cars behind him (which are similar in width to F1 cars) were able to get around.

If a car stops in the pit lane during the F1 race it could prevent drivers being able from coming in to refuel. This problem has occurred despite the race being missing form last year’s calendar while the organisers redeveloped the pit lane area. Links below.
