  1. I think Constructors’ championship is over. No team will be able to touch Brawn with only four rounds remaining.

  2. Well I think that should be that! From now on it’s only Button or Barrichello. Obviously Button is in the better position and should he keep up his concentration it will be extremely hard for Rubens to catch him.

Another driver who gained a big advantage today is Kimi Raikkonen considering that his closest rivals Webber, Vettel, Rosberg, Hamilton, Trulli and Massa were left pointless. (Well Vettel gained one.) Ferrari and McLaren is going to nail that third spot in the constructor’s standings though.

It’s definately a two-horse race now. Mr. Red Bull himself, Dietrich Mateschitz has said that their title hopes were dashed long before the Italin Grand Prix. If Button scores four more points than Webber, it’s game over for the Australian. If he scores seven more points than Vettel, it’s the same deal. Their race could be run by the end of Singapore; I know they have an upgrade planned, but Brawn do too (let’s hope it’s better than the last one … but the team has shown that they learn quickly, so I don’t think it will be likely).

All Button really has to do is keep Barrichello in his cross-hairs. Barrichello has to score three points more than Button in every race just to stay in touch; he has to score four if he wants to pass his tam-mate, and that’s assuming Button doesn’t score at all. As long as Button stays in the points, the championship is his. And he’s made a pretty strong case for himself at Monza.
