  1. I’m definitely waiting till P3 is over…so tricky since the rain hasn’t shown itself at all yet.

    1. OK but if you wait until P3 is over you won’t be able to enter!

      1. Well, ok maybe enter my prediction 5 minutes before FP3 is over.

        I think….is my timing screwed?

        1. Predictions close when FP3 starts – that’s been the rule for a couple of years!

          1. I’m sure the timing for the prediciton is wrong then.

18hrs 25 minutes from now is 7am GMT

FP3 starts at 6am GMT and finishes at 7am.

          2. all this while I Thought the prediction close after FP3 finish. maybe I need to read the rules thoroughly

        2. I usually enter my predictions 5 minutes before the race is finished – 3 laps before finish to be exact.

Well, I didn’t score many points in Australia, because I thought both Mercedes would somehow rejoin the race and score a one-two win.

          1. You enter your predictions three laps “before the race is finished”? Say what?

          2. Irony. Is hard to catch on the Internet.:-)

  2. I tried to place my prediction but it said I had to log in and I don’t seem to have a password. So I can’t be bothered!

    1. The reason logins are required is because last year we had a lot of problems with people typing their user names in wrong and then losing their predictions.

The registration process is as quick and painless as possible:

      1. Plus, you can vote and other fun stuff. It’s hard to be a fanatic and be too lazy to register.

    2. Such commitment!

  3. Going for a more conservative prediction this time. My Melbourne efforts got me nowhere, so have abandoned the “Guess the unexpectedd” approach. Just hope the weather holds up.

    1. Have gone the otherway. Played for the obvious in Australia and got reasonnable points. Played a bit more with the pronostics on this one

  4. You never know what’s gonna happen, it’s a random guess from me.

  5. This is tricky..

Even after FP2, it’s difficult to gauge performance of the top teams.. lap times vary by too much

It’s not helping that Renault barely had any running during the two sessions

  6. Ugh. I don’t like my picks but I made them. I really wish P1 and P2 were actually useful.

  7. My prediction: chaos.

  8. Well my prediction is

Mark Webber 1:34.5 something for pole.

  9. is my email my password? not clear…

      1. got it, thanks.

  10. I see that the remaining races are available to select in the drop down box unlike the last round where only Australia was available – anyone tempted to pick all of their top 5s now?

  11. My predictions are as follows:
    1) Someone will indeed win the race.
    2) There will be controversy
    3) There will be monumental strategy errors
    4) If there is rain, the safety car will have to refuel
    5) Someone not named Michael will be the winner

    I think I’m a lock for the prize!….;)

  12. So who’s gone for a Petrov top five finish?
I’m gonna give it a few races before I put him up there… if I do.

  13. Webbers practise form has thrown a spanner in the works for my predictions, but I’ll go for seb to pull out the lap when it counts and lead from the front.
as for behind, Alonso says they’re struggling but he’ll find a way to drag it up there. So here’s to being completely wrong!

  14. Looking forward to seeing how wrong my prediction is this time. I guess i didn’t actually give the result of rain much thought, so that might already be a problem :)

  15. I’d be interested to see how the predicted pole times look after entries have closed. Just wondering how many people predicted (dry qualifying) versus and upwards for wet qualifying.

    1. I went mid way :) 1:40

    2. I just went with a dry prediction.

I know there’s like a 60% rain chance, but guessing a rain time is far too much of a wild guess.

  16. So… Who hasn’t actually voted Seb-Vet for pole!

I don’t have Vettel….. was considering it but opted to go for his teamate this time around.

Also, gambled on one of my Williams drivers making it to the top 5…… pretty risky.

      1. I picked Webber, too. Unless both RB drivers monumentally screw up (or it rains), the cars are still too good to beat for pole.

  17. I decided for a little trick for Quali, let’s hope it pays off and gives me a Red Bull-esque advantage lol.

I’ve gone for Perez to do well again, I really believe he’s a great talent.

  18. My first prediction submitted after visiting this site near-daily for a year now…my fanaticism is growing. ;)

Best of luck! Welcome to the competition!

  19. Tyres and rain – what’s gonna happen?!! Not enjoying red bull dominance – much prefer several teams with different car qualities but are more-or-less even. so, seems like it’ll be ANOTHER red bull pole but hopefully webber rather than vettel. Go lewis, go! My whimsical prediction is that maldonado may do well – placed him 5th. enjoy!

  20. hey keith,

I think there’s something wrong with the site rendering.
I have a mac, and uses chrome to browse, but I always seem to be locked in a infinite loop with the different ad servers…

Please help! (using firefox helps a bit, but every page on f1fanatic still loads very slow!)

    1. There are plenty of us about with the same problem babubulala, Keith is on with trying to solve it at the moment. It is obviously quite a complex problem as it is taking a while.

In the meantime just hit refresh if you get stuck :D

  21. 1.alonso

    if it rains

  22. P. Vettel 01:35.900
    1. Vettel
    2. Button
    3. Webber
    4. Hamilton
    5. Alonso

I didn’t even crack the top 1000 for the Aus GP.

  23. Probably not an innovative strategy but I’m gonna predict my most unfavoured result and so use this as an insurance policy. At least if I hate the race i’ll love the points :D

And thus I have Vettel for a pole and lights to flag win with Webber dropping to fourth. McLaren 2 and 3 is consolation on my behalf.

Amazing I don’t even have a ferrari in the top 5 for me seeing that Alonso is highly dissappointed in the car. Then again they could be downplaying the car but from last weeks results I doubt it. Also I put Merc GP in my top five seeing that they were third in Sepang last year.

    1. I had to put Alonso somewhere in the top 5, so I give him 5th.

I am a fan of the “Dark Side” you know ;)

    2. I chose Rosberg for 4th. I belive the car’s capable, and I think Rosberg still has a slight edge over Michael for a full race.

  25. So, I forgot that Malaysia was this weekend until about a minute ago, and then came by to enter my predictions but missed the deadline by 90 seconds.

    Well, here they are anyway.
    Pole: Vettel (1:35.200)
    1st: Vettel
    2nd: Hamilton
    3rd: Webber
    4th: Alonso
    5th: Button

  26. Webber will take pole here.
    2nd: hamilton
    3rd: vettel

  27. Damn, I went a tad too conservative pole time-wise at a 1:35.873. At least I got the polesitter right. For the race I’ve gone for
    5.(wait for it…)PET!

Yeah, I did actually go for Petrov…

  28. Hey I yesterday sent my predictions and till today don’t get my types on my email.why?????
