Nico Rosberg will receive a five-place penalty for the Belgian Grand Prix.

Rosberg stopped with a gearbox problem during the final practice session. The team confirmed the unit will have to be replaced, earning him a five-place grid penalty.

Rosberg becomes the second driver to collect a gearbox change penalty this weekend, joining Mark Webber.

  1. Having a fully functional gearbox is a bonus these days. If I was a team principal I’d assume I have a 5 place penalty for the race and if not, great!

    1. @andrewtanner I’d be surprised if most team principals didn’t have a Plan B just for occasions like this :)
