Esteban Gutierrez will not take part in today’s qualifying session following his crash in practice.

The Sauber driver spun into the wall at turn four on his seventh lap during the final practice session at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve today.

The team confirmed they will be unable to prepare a new car for him in time for him to take part in qualifying.

I know a spin can happen to anybody, but Sauber really needs to solid Q positions to start dreaming about points.

@omarr-pepper – But generally the moderate oversteer like that suffered by Esteban is corrected, but not only did “Steve” fail to correct the slide, he failed to recognize it, and continued to turn in when it was blatantly apparent that the rear end was on the war path, even from the roll hoop camera. At this level, that is just unacceptable.

  2. This guy is avg, James Calado would be better or better yet Frijns who i no it is hard to say but i think Frijns maybe a huge talent wasted we are not even getting to watch him who know’s he could be as good as anyone?.

    1. Rossi seems to be getting the FP1 gigs ahead of him. That can’t be a good sign. He might be better off in Fomula E keeping his eye in.

  3. as they said on sky at the time, guttierez is the only reason that sauber are not dead last in the constructors thanks to his 12th place finish.
