  1. Nico finished 45s ahead of Vettel and Hamilton, who pitted one more time and stayed half of the race behind Vettel, finished maybe 25s ahead of him. It should be soul destroying for Ferrari.

    1. Indeed I thought Ferrari were making inroads but it’s clear that Merc haven’t just been standing still. I think for Ferrari to stand more chances of victory they need to qualify ahead of the Mercs on tracks that are difficult/impossible to overtake, starting at Monaco. However the problem is is that the Merc clearly has the better aerodynamic package and mechanical grip so you have to think unless there is a Hungary ’14 type race or Canada ’14, Ferrari’s chances of another race victory are pretty slim.

  2. What happened to ham at the start? I missed the first 20 laps and saw him behind vet

    1. Vettel advanced Hamilton in the first lap and until the second pit he couldn’t pass ahead Vettel

    2. @f1fan-2000 – Rosberg and Vettel had good starts, Hamilton said he had too much wheel spin at the start and fell behind.

  3. And discouraging for ferrari as they lost that time in half a race

  4. Good response from Nico this weekend, but I’m sure Lewis is still in the catbird seat barring reliability issues this season. McLaren? Geez…..

    1. Beaten by a 2014 Force India … I wonder if McLaren will manage to take 8th in the constructors championship.

At least there’s Marussia who are slower than them.

      1. Having made almost no test this winter, what did you expect from them ? During friday practice, they were testing various front wing configuration and were doing rather well…shame they did not use any of those wings for qualifying.

And I think the results of this race did not reflect McLaren progress :
        – Alonso had had barkes issues, but was doing rather well prior to this failure
        – Button being Button, he encountered various issues with the control of his car…following the long lasting tradition at McLaren…fast but highly unreliable…except for now, they’re not fast :-)

In fact, McLaren situation reminds me a lot of Renault back in 2008. Their car was not good at all during the first half of the season…but, after a certain crash, things on the car were improved drastically…up to the point that Alonso outscored any single driver during the second half of the season…

  5. Why does everybody act surprised that MERC is still so far ahead?? I said it since the begining of the season, they are just sand-bagging for the show´s sake! Ferrari, although they have improved, is still way behind. Hamilton complaining not being able to pass Vettel is such a farce, he fell all the way to 5th and still managed to finish 2nd. It still is a 2 horse race and the prancing horse has no ticket to the show.
The only nice surprise is seeing McHonda improving every race. Maybe by the end of the season they will be on a leveled playing field.
