The weather had been unseasonally cool in Montreal during the first days of June, but temperatures will rise to their typical levels in time for this weekend’s Canadian Grand Prix.
However, as was the case at the previous round in Monaco, there is a significant chance that the opening day of practice will be affected by rain. The temperature should hold up, however, potentially reaching as high as 24C.
Sunny conditions are forecast during qualifying but conditions will be slightly cooler. Similar conditions are currently expected for race day: dry and perhaps a little warmer.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion, I don’t happen to agree. Has it been a classic start to a season? No, not really, then again the best tracks are yet to come up. Has it been boring though? No, but then not every race can be a classic, not every season can be a classic either. Having said that I don’t think there has ever been an era when some people thought it was boring, will always happen.

Morning everyone. Greetings from Montreal. Sorry about the weather forecast for Friday. But we’re due to have a fine weekend, hopefully without major weather inconvenience (temperatures here were down to +3C earlier in the week with snow just to the north of us on Mont Tremblant – so we’re still in the period of crazy weather between winter and summer – it would be unfair to call it spring).
If you’ll forgive the blatant self promotion, we’ve got a website here for Montreal weather that includes a webcam just to the west of the circuit that updates every 3 seconds … if you want to see live weather about 2 minutes before it hits the circuit, you’re more than welcome to visit!

Yup, hail is fairly common, but snow would make for some interesting tire choices (this is a shot of the weather radar just to the North of Montreal from two days ago).

Is it just me or do we really see much less wet races than 5-10 years ago? It seems that if there’s rain it only affects the free practices or the qualifying!

Keep quiet. Every criticism is taken on board and instead of a clear goal in mind which involves including some things and compromising on others the FIA just use a bit of everything. If you do not stop this Bernies Sprinkler idea will be included for 2017.

I live in Montreal and the weather forecasts this spring have been changing every day.
Yesterday, the forecast for tomorrow was what they now have for Sunday, and only scattered showers for Friday.

I wonder why we are not getting rainy Sundays any more. Its like the rain Gods are starving us of wet races.
Every race weekend is like: “Rain expected for the weekend, except for the race, which should be dry” or ” Heavy rain is forecast for Friday, cloudy and cool but dry weather for Saturday, and warm and sunny conditions for race day”. Canadian rain Gods, I pray to you.
