Formula One’s official tyre supplier will bring its super-soft compound as part of the allocation for the German Grand Prix.
The super-softs will be the mandatory tyre compound for Q3. Drivers will also be able to choose from the soft and medium compounds and must have one set of each available to use during the race.
The super-soft, soft and medium selection has been Pirelli’s preferred combination so far this season. The same three were also nominated for the Australian, Bahrain, Chinese, Russian, European and Hungarian Grands Prix.
F1 is racing on the Hockenheimring this year for the first time since 2014.

I was hoping for the ultra-soft/supersoft/soft combination, so hopefully the supersoft/soft/medium combination won’t prove to be too conservative.

What are the chains/cables for? To ensure a set remains a set?
