Fans who braved the dreadful weather at last year’s United States Grand Prix will be well rewarded if they return for this year’s race.

Austin is enjoying a much drier and warmer October than it was 12 months ago. After a passing cold front brings a brief dip in temperatures on Thursday, conditions will heat up in time for the beginning of track action on Friday.

Sunny conditions are expected throughout practice and qualifying, with daily temperatures peaking at around 25C. Slightly warmer weather is expected on race day – up to 28C.

Wind should not be too great a problem for the drivers at the Circuit of the Americas as conditions are forecast to be calm.

    1. …despite rumours of plenty of hot air in Las Vegas…

Rosberg will be grateful for that – it was a sudden gust of wind that made him run wide and lost him the lead to Hamilton last year!

  3. Shame – a race like last year would remind the world just how great F1 could be if the cars had less grip…

  4. I’m so excited not to walk through rivers up to my shins this year!

  5. No hurricanes this year…
