Lewis Hamilton was the biggest mover in the Monaco Grand Prix but he was surely hoping to make more progress than just six positions.
Having qualified thirteenth Hamilton brought his car home seventh. That cost him 19 points in his championship fight with Sebastian Vettel.
Passing being almost impossible in Monaco, Hamilton made his progress by grabbing a spot at the start and running long on his pit stop. However Mercedes were reluctant to do anything more extreme with his strategy.
The biggest loser in terms of track position was Sergio Perez, who complained about the team’s decision to bring him in for an early pit stop.
