The Renault-drivers will be in a good position for the race in P11 and P12 on the grid with a free choice of the race starting tyre set.

why didn’t Ericsson even do a single q3 run?

Why bother? He would have finish P10 either way.

@thegianthogweed The info here is wrong. He did a lap right at the end, but it was pretty slow. You can check the classification on the official website.

Fair enough. Not sure why it says no time though. but I heard his interview and he did say he messed up. So he did have an attempt. But I’m still unsure why he left it until the end of the session.

@thegianthogweed
Bc of tyre preservation, he probably (as in highly probable) would’ve been P10 anyway, and finally the track is at its fastest at the end of the session.

Bottas shows what a bit of confidence can do! There’s nothing like coming to a track as a winner.
He still hasn’t ever been out-qualified by a team-mate in Sochi.

So – Dany Ric and Mad Max to cause carnage lap one or what?
Esteban has nothing much to lose but a bit to prove.
And I’m looking forwards to Lance legally defending his position from the five behind him.
Should be a fun start tomorrow in my opin ;)

RB charging through the field should bring some action to an otherwise dull circuit.

@zapski As long as the tyres allow them to charge through the field.

This is just silly. As I’ve said the teams had the prob. Not the drivers so why should they be made to start at the back. Somethins wrong some where. Why not just draw names out a hat if you want racein.
