  1. Mercedes has more points than Ferrari and RBR combined. But I still believe in an exciting season.

RBR has more points than all F1.5 teams combined. Yet still it seems F1.5 has closed the gap.

  2. Funny how year on year form changes so little, in particular from the last race of 2018, a testament to f1’s high level. Romain still scoreless.

  3. How crazy is it that Max is ahead of both Ferrari drivers?

    1. Because, in race trim, RBR is closer to Ferrari than Ferrari to Mercedes.

    2. Everyone should truly fear Max getting the package he deserves. I’m beginning to believe he’s the top driver out there, by some margin…

In terms, of speed, i certainly think that is possible. But consistency getting great results is another matter. The risk he took with Sainz in Bahrain could have gone as badly as contacting Hamilton did at that race the previous year. He still hasn’t quite sorted out this area yet. But when he’s at a dominant team, he may be more relaxed and could well be as good as Hamilton. But I think that is yet to be seen.

      2. I don’t fear Max getting his P45 at all…

  4. I dont recall ever seeing the winning team representative spraying champagne on the podium before. Is that a new thing?

    1. Yeah, relatively. It started sometime towards the tail-end of last season.

  5. Max is really above par right now. He’s really doing a very good job this season so far in clearly the 3rd best car.

He just fast and solid. If the bulls can get their car to work better this could be a very good season for him

  6. Not that clearly the 3rd best car, especially in race trim. The way he qualified and performed in AUS and CHI it looks like RBR is really close to Ferrari… enough to split them based on pure performance, as we’ve seen today.

      1. Max is just very fast that’s why the cars looks better than it is

  7. Let’s just say that Ferrari backed Leclerc in Aus +2 points didn’t conduct a swap today + 5 points and if Ferrari’s reliability wasn’t the case in Bharain +15 points. Leclerc and the championship would look much better for Ferrari and the fans. Adjusted below of the should have could have would have. Once again it’s a Ferrari let down thus far.

Kimi best of the rest right now. Hopefully Sauber’s development can keep pace with Renault and McLaren through the season.

  9. After just 3 rounds Mercedes have scored more points than any of the midfield teams managed over 21 races last season.

  10. That Mercedes double pit stop showed Ferrari the level they have to beat. Perfect strategy assessment, perfect timing, perfect execution. It’s peak Barcelona versus late-Ronaldo era Real Madrid.

    1. It was very good, but is does help if the gap between your 2 cars is 5 seconds

      1. True enough, but it took complete confidence as a team to make it work.
