With Williams using the races as test sessions to get to the bottom of their circulation issues, there was not much Russell could do.
The one area where he was bad, was his starts. If he’s does not address that in 2020 he will have a tough time moving up in the midfield. Latifi will be more competitive and has continuous single seater racing going back a number of seasons.
The bright spot is that Russell developed such a strong relationship with the team over the course of the season. They will design the car almost exclusively based on his feedback, as was alone in giving useful relevant feedback during the season.
