I still don’t get the point in starting the Friday-sessions at half-past instead of on the hour, as is the case with the equivalent sessions everywhere else.
Why 16:30-18:00 and 20:30-22:00 instead of 16:00-17:30 and 20:00-21:30 for FP1 and FP2 respectively? (Local times)
For the sake of consistency, the latter alternative would be better.

because the session last 1 and half hour so they finished on times the tv stations want.

@macleod But what difference does it make in Singapore specifically compared to the rest of the venues? Starting at half-past, and thus, ending on the hour instead of the usual starting on the hour/ending half-past format. The Saturday-sessions commence on the hour anyway in Singapore as well. I somewhat struggle to buy your suggestion, although neither of us, of course, know for certain, so, therefore, we can only guess.

I can only relay what they say on Ziggo about the strange times. So they plan 2 hours (pratice) start the sessions with news, info and what they expect then practice. And when the practice end there program continues.

Hope no one dies in Laguna. What a daft idea.

Why would you expect a death at Laguna Seca of all places?
