  1. That outlap by Vettel, wow. Brilliant job by him and Ferrari and decent race by Norris as well.

    1. But he couldn’t put it on pole. Gifted to him by management. Very luck someone other than LeClercbehind or he would have binned it.

      1. Pole isn’t everything.

      2. No he took first place by driving well today.

    2. Watching on sky, then the interview with Coulthard nobody wanted Seb to win, even if they admit he did alright. Digs at Seb in every sentence. Di Resta put it right, “there are no favourites” sky wanted something to have a dig, the merc strategy produced the result. look at mercedes. I wanted Leclerc to win, but it is not vettel’s fault he got lucky today. I guess merc thought ferrari would cook the tyre.

  2. Interesting tactics by Ferrari there.
    The Torpedo is back.

    1. Interesting as in Ferrari strategy was perfect, like merc has been doing except they don’t engineer a car ahead. The situation presented itself and rather than shoot themselves on the foot, as in the past they made a good call. Unlucky Charles, unfair but it could have ended charles way, it didn’t. Torpedo had an awful weekend how is he still in f1. Kimk isn’t innocent either.

  3. Bizarre ‘tactics’ from Merc. I guess they were hoping that often discussed but rarely seen meteor strike taking out the top 3?

  4. I am happy for Vettel- he really needed this. I feel for Leclerc but it’s just one of those things you could argue either way- a bit like Max and Ricciardo in Spain a few years back.

I have long had reservations about Merc having one chief strategist in James Vowles- and after Spa and now this it was really a missed opportunity. These Pirellis are just chewing gum- Lewis was never going to make up a pitstop window with the overcut.

Why did Merc tell BOT to hang back? If I was BOT I wouldn’t have listened especially after he felt aggrieved yesterday after quasly. Leclerc, Vettel and Verstappen all taking points off Lewis and it makes no difference to a 4/5? Nah.

Driver of the day for me is Norris with an honourable mention for Max.

  5. Vettel got lucky with a strategy call.
    Lando drove superbly.

    1. Vettel was gifted an opportunity and he made the most of it through some very good driving.

  6. Leclerc’s whinging is getting annoying. Just pass him then. Also why did Bottas comply with that order? Wingman.

  7. What would have happened if Ferrari had supported Leclerc from the beggining of the championship… So many races stopping him to benefit Vettel.

    1. Not true. Not much different. Whenever LEC was able to beat VET, he did. See Bahrain. Not only he’s not playing it no.2 to VET, but he demanded priority whenever he felt he’s faster. And it happened from 1st race of the season!

      1. I disagree. Remember the first races of the season where Leclerc was told to “let Seb by” when he was in front of him or to “save tyres” when behind. Even in Bahrain! However there Charles disobeyed because of his overwhelming speed.

The thing is that Ferrari has to justify somehow why they are paying 10 times more money to Vettel. A huge mistake in my opinion.

    2. At least HAm wouldnt have 4 races advantage.
Something were just unfortunate, and there is austria.
But , LEC could be a real tilte contender.

  8. An excellent job of the Ferrari team and its two drivers. A deserved victory.
It is very good for the category that Vettel has won. He is one of the great drivers of his generation.

    1. @jorge-lardone I wouldn’t say this win does anything to support that assertion.

While he drove well, he was effectively gifted the win over his team-mate.
