Have Alfa Romeo failed to capitalise on their potential after their strong end to last season?

Alfa has not maximised their results this year, they should easily be sixth and challenging Renault for fifth if they took full advantage of the car their engineers built. Both drivers are making far too many mistakes, and neither is impressing with speed. I’m not impressed with Giovinazzi, Wehrlein is a much better driver.

Toro Rosso being ahead of Alfa shows that it may not have been the best choice to break the deal. Too many unknown factors to say either way, but Honda would have put in a lot more money than Alfa has.

  1. It’s a slow F1 news day when a post about Indy drivers not being allowed to participate in a one-off Aussie race.

Sean Bratches is leaving Liberty… wonder if he was lured away by a rich offer from Storey – for the new Netflix series: The Drive To Annoy.

  2. Correa’s thighs showing how quickly someone can lose muscle. His right foot might be on a cage but it is benefitial for him to stand up, specifically as the bone cells are stimulated by the weight he puts on that leg.

    1. That’s what I noticed as well. Good for him to see he’s on the (long) road to recovery. Wish him well.

    2. The patched cyanosis in the sole and the toes of the right foot are pre-necrosis caused by ischemia. The fracture of the tibia and the fibula probably damaged the distal arterial branches of the leg.

  3. I agree with the COTD. Alfa indeed has failed to maximize the early-season potential as the season has progressed. I guess they just haven’t been as effective at car-development as their direct rivals have been over the season.

  4. I’m curious about what will happen if the ferraris are 1st and 3rd again. will they tow each other into turn 1? it would be hilarious if they tried the same tactic again, but part of me thinks they should. it worked in russia! it was just vettel’s engine failure that scuppered it all.
