  1. Well, those top three are the top three for 2020 and 2021. Order is restored.

    1. Another grand slam to add to Hamilton’s tally. What is that now?

      1. @Ajaxn Not grand slam because he didn’t lead every single lap.

      2. It was a hat-trick. Pole, fastest lap and win. For a grand slam you need to have led every single lap as well.

  2. Well done Lewis, get in there But What happened to Bottas?

Bottas gives up the lead and proves he can’t be relied on to stay ahead of the red bulls.

    1. What happened to Bottas? I think nothing, that’s how he is and he’s been consistent at it.

      1. He messed up the start and dropped back several positions even before the first corner, small mistake with big consequence. But then he managed to fight back to 3rd, I’m quite sure it would have been 2nd with one more lap. I’m not sure the team gambled right with his last pit stop, maybe it was worth a shot, maybe it would have been better to stay out. We will never know. Anyway, with the advantage that Mercedes have on everyone else this year, and Hamilton driving very steadily at the front again, the team have nothing to worry about.

  3. Well, at least the championship was exciting for two races.

  4. With the Merc in this form it really won’t matter in the end, but imagine the Red Bull getting back on the pace and that Verstappen retirement coming back to hurt them. 2nd, 3rd and 2nd is not exacty WDC form, but it would be keeping him competitive, which he isn’t now

  5. For the stats..
Verstappen no 33, 33 podiums and 33 championship points.

  6. RP and Mclaren tied together.

    1. Yes they are tied together with their pending enquiry for the brake duct issue. If they get convicted then they will be disqualified.

  7. These are preliminary, right?

  8. A bad race for McLaren, I hope they can bounce back at Silverstone.

  9. How many F1 races is it for Russel without an single point? It just shows how much the driver is out of the equation in modern F1. Mercedes is miles away from the rest. Racing Point with a 2019 merc clone car brought Stroll to P4 and I have been reading on the internet for the last few years how Lance is one of the worst drivers. I know that F1 was always an arms race for technology. But the lack of testing and regulation changes keep the teams so far away pace vise. And still money wins. The show only dies…

    1. It’s not a show it’s a sport, and a team sport. Even in football the best individual players don’t win the world cup. And if money was the only influence where the heck is Ferrari?

For every person who still thinks Rosberg lucked into his WDC, think again.
Bottas has led the championship exactly the same way last year, winning the first race and keeping the lead for exactly 2 races. Then Hamilton took it back. What can we expect from Bottas this year? Maybe he will be able to bounce back (as in 2019) and then disappear from the top step for more than 10 races? The way he ruined his start today makes him look unable to keep the pressure away. Hamilton will run into 2 more championships easily, because to top it all, Red Bull and Ferrari can’t match Mercedes development, especially with this aspect being halted until 2022. Rosberg at least made Hamilton run for his money in that 2016 season.

  11. As usual, Hamilton and Bottas having more points individually than any of the other teams. That shows how far Mercedes is in their development.

  12. Looking at the team points, it would appear Mercedes are racing with 6 cars.

  13. Ferrari looking likely to consolidate that 5th place in the WCC. Cool.

As a lifelong F1 fan I have to say this…Hungary was yet another pole to podium parade, but there was great action again in the midfield where the cars are more evenly matched. Think about his, switch Lewis and Kimi. Do you really think Lewis would win the championship in the Alfa? I think Kimi could out drive Bottas for the title, but only because of the superior car provided by Mercedes. For the sport to thrive there has to be more parity in the hardware so there is contention for first and not just 3rd – 20th. That being said, I applaud Mercedes for their engineering prowess, they have done a spectacular job these last few years.
