  1. Albon should’ve managed to beat the RPs, but at least better than last time out.

    1. @jerejj it might be better in terms of starting position (6th versus 9th) when compared to the 70th Anniversary GP, but he is actually worse off in terms of lap time deficit – he was 0.493s behind Verstappen in qualifying for that race, but here he is 0.737s behind Verstappen in qualifying.

  2. Ferrari/McLaren/Renault competing with pink Mercs and white Bulls.

Please, will someone get VET a new chassis…

  4. Lewis on pole. Bottas second. Max third.
    Yawn emoji.

Looking forward to enjoying tomorrow’s race. Thumbs-up emoji, wink emoji.

    1. Did you really write out emojis
      @webtel

      1. @coldfly Yeah. Seemed easier than searching for the shortcuts

  5. I didn’t realise at the time how close it was between Albon in P6 and Galsy in P10, under 0.110 seconds between all of them. Mighty close behind the front teams

    1. You can also ‘throw in’ Vettel Kvyat and Ricciardo all within 0.032s of P10 at the end of Q2.

They might all be laughing now as they put their Medium starting tyres in the tyre warmers.

  6. Another weekend of Vettel fans calling Ferrari a bunch of noobs. And it still goes on.

    1. That would be the Vettel haters. They are already out as you can see.

    2. Seems like Vettel isn’t quite able to drive the car, much like Hamilton had problems with his car when Rosberg took home the championship. No conspiracy theory, just a fact that people drive cars differently and the car will respond differently. The regulations & the car don’t favor Vettel’s style and he’s been unable to adapt, quite obviously.

*Hamilton drove in such a way that his car failed more often. He’s not the kind of driver who wants to back off at all, as proven when he crossed the line with 3 wheels recently. He could have nursed the car but he’s full on driver.

      1. I appreciate a lot of silly stuff passes without comment on the Internet… but this one really can’t pass over. You’re characterisation of Hamilton as a driver is nearly completely the opposite of reality.

Don’t confuse the carefully curated radio clips of him sounding irate as marking him hot headed. If you want to characterise Hamilton.. it’s not outright speed that sets him apart (let’s be honest Bottas runs him close and often beats him qualifying… and Max one lap am sure is quicker); it’s relentless consistency, tyre management, quality of decision making , and lack of mistakes … couldn’t be further away from “all or nothing”.

  7. Where is Claire Williams to proclaim the progress that Williams have made by being, yet again, the last two cars on the grid.

The only bright spot there is Russell out qualifying his team mate so definitively again. His talent is wasted in that old banger.

The sooner the Williams family sell up and ship out the better.

  8. Kimi outperforming a Renault. Didn’t see that one coming, not that I don’t expect Kimi to be able to, but the Alfa’s aren’t shining jewels these days. Previous race both were at the back. Glad to see it either way.

  9. 1 second between p6 and p17and only 0.5 seconds between p6 and p15. Pretty impressive.
