  1. Briliant race.

  2. Its unusual to see Aston Martin going backwards.

Well Vettel himself did go backwards out of Luffield…

      1. Like perez and botas :) slippery corner that

  3. Great drive by RIC to keep SAI behind whilst SAI had drs for a lot of laps.

  4. This will be a championship with a lot of “what ifs”. Almost like 2012 at least.

Even as a Max fan (although I’d rather have a close championship fight than anything else), I don’t feel *too* disappointed or annoyed. Hamilton made a misjudgement (it was not deliberate, let’s say that much), picked up a penalty, served it and still won. And the championship’s quite close again now. I’d be surprised if RB don’t win Hungary, and Merc could struggle there once again similar to Monaco

    1. Yes, thing is I don’t know if the red flag was necessary (the obvious winner was HAM, of course), then telling BOT to give up his place is what makes this win a bad joke.

      1. Disagree 100%. HAM closed on LEC in 10 laps. BOT was just out there for a Sunday cruise. BOT should have had 2nd easily. He will soon be gone.

        1. Afraid bottas will stay, nothing has been confirmed about russell in mercedes and he’s doing a great number 2 job lately, he’s demolishing perez on performance and he’s obeying team orders etc., I don’t see why they would want to replace him. Even if they lose russell, surely any good driver would jump to mercedes if hamilton decides to retire one day, who doesn’t want a competitive car?

      2. it looks like it favoured HAM (it did) but it was necessary because the barrier was severely damaged and there where trucks all over the place.

      3. @mg1982 I think the other reason for the red flag besides the barriers was the car was still ‘alive’ and required Red Bull engineers to sort it before the stewards could handle the removal.

      4. And I guess pitting Perez, who was fighting for points finish, just to nulify Hamilton of FLap was alright? The team also need the points to WCC, and Bottas today would not deliver the win.

        1. That’s the minimum they could do to hit back at him, would you prefer perez waiting for him and taking him out after being lapped? I’d have done it if I were red bull, then make some BS excuse, since there’s only 10 sec penalty for taking out your championship rival and you win anyway given the car advantage.

    2. The dangerous thing was that he was left when entering the braking zone, so max anticipated on him being left. Then he yoinked to the right and took the inside… no driver would ever expect him to be there, as on that moment it’s impossible to see in the mirrors, as you are dedicated to the corner already

  6. Only four points between RB and Mercedes anymore. Eight in the WDC, so everything’s still all open for this season.

  7. The extent to which the gap closed up due to luck/team mate help/dirty moves is really amazing. If Lewis does win, he might be the least deserving championship winner of all time.

    1. Absolutely true, I complained a lot about rosberg in 2016, and hamilton deserved that one more, but rosberg was still against a formidable competitor with more talent, example his father’s title was less deserved, but this one..

  8. Isn’t Williams ahead of Haas in the constructor’s?
