AlphaTauri and Alpine announce 2022 F1 car launch plans

AlphaTauri and Alpine have become the latest teams to confirm when they will present their new cars for the 2022 Formula 1 season.

The new AlphaTauri AT03 will be revealed on February 14th. Alpine have also chosen a Sunday to present their new car: The A522 is to make its debut a week later on February 21st.

The two teams, which fought for fifth place in the constructors championship last year, both teams have unchanged driver line-ups for the new season.

Pierre Gasly, in his sixth consecutive season with AlphaTauri, which was previously known as Toro Rosso. He scored their best result last year with third place at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

Yuki Tsunoda, who made his F1 debut last year, will remain as Gasly’s team mate.

Alpine, who beat AlphaTauri to fifth in the championship by 13 points last year, will continue with two-times world champion Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon. The latter scored his first F1 victory last year in Hungary.

More than half of the 10 Formula 1 teams have now announced the dates for the 2022 car launches. Aston Martin will be first to present their new car on February 10th, followed by McLaren the day after. Ferrari and Mercedes have also confirmed their launch plans.

  1. Nicely coming together. Still a bit of a shame we won’t get a big presentation of all cars and access to actually see details. But I guess that was never likely to happen.

  2. Those are both Mondays. Unless European dates are different from the American calendar.

      Uhmm, you are joking, right? Tell me you are, come on man, tell me you’re joking…

        1. Actually can be very easy to confuse. I use a “proper” calendar that has Monday as the first day in the week, while my wife uses a “weird” calendar that has Sunday as the first day of the week. This year our kitchen calendar inexplicably uses a Sunday first layout, so I keep getting dates mixed up. She had the same problem last year, when we had a proper calendar.

          It’s a bit like when you can’t decide on saying “You’re welcome” or “No problem” and you end up saying “You’re/your problem” instead.
