  1. Perez showing off a very strong weekend, riding the RB18 with good hands, provoking ChL’s mistake, with very good race pace in both races.

    1. @luis but surely a driver that is bested by his teammate on all accounts can’t be DOTW.

I wanted to vote for George, but in the end had to go for Max. Took all points on offer, Grand Slam on top.

  2. It’s hard to not vote for Verstappen this time. He took pole, won the sprint and his win never looked in doubt. Pretty much the perfect weekend for him.
While Norris had a great race and a good sprint as well, he also binned it in qualifying. He was rather lucky to have already set a pretty good lap before that.
Honorable mentions to George Russell who had a great first lap and dragged everything out of his car in the race.
Seb Vettel did rather well too in what is still pretty much the slowest car on the grid. Good qualy, unfortunate in the sprint as he picked up graining there and fell out of the top 10, but had a great recovery in the race.

    1. +1 definaly true as I wanted to vote for more drivers too ….

  3. If the Merc was undriveable, making 4th is an unbeliably great drive, so GR gets my vote (well, maybe it was not undriveable, just only driveable by a competent driver).

Max did something we still do not have a word for (Grand Chelem plus sprint race win) and the most points ever in a weekend, so at least gets an honorable mention. But
-Had it maybe a bit too easy
-Made a bad start in the sprint race and probabley would have had to settle for second if Charles’ tyres had not degraded too much in the final laps

Also mentions to Lando for a pretty good drive today and Pierre for the defense

    1. Max did the most points ever in a weekend

Actually, that wouldn’t be correct. Hamilton scored 50 points in the 2014 finale. Which was quite stupid, but then again we could say the same about points awarded for a sprint race.

      1. Right, had forgotten that

      2. Yes, we’d have to say most points scored in a weekend without double points, because 34 is still a number never achieved before, aside from your example. Good that you’re still racing btw!

  4. Seb for how well he came back after Melbourne, in an average car.

    1. That is a good point. I am not a fan of Vettel at all, but you are right. Imho not good enough for DOTW, but honorable mention.

  5. Max was perfect all weekend. Norris, Russell and Vettel all got great results for the cars they’re driving.

I have a feeling George will beat Lewis in standings this year, not on ability but simply that he’s had a lot more recent experience of driving bad cars. Lewis hasn’t had to deal with that for many years.

    1. I agree with your line of thinking. Same could be said about his wheel to wheel skills previous season. He was rusty since the 8 years before he never had to battle. People were quick to blame Max but both Silverstone and Monza need not happen if Lewis was a bit more sharper. Charles and Max tangos so far have been very clean.

  6. Voted Norris, RBR was easily the fastest car by a few tenths all weekend proven Perez by beating Leclerc so thought Verstappen took what was in the car.

  7. Certainly Max for the entire Weekend, but on the day I would say he was always in control and didn’t have to work too hard.
Norris, Russell and Bottas all deserve applause for the actual race I reckon.
Especially Russell when you consider where his (not inexperienced) team-mate finished!

  8. VER is an easy choice for both DOTW & DOTD.
Honorable mentions to NOR, BOT, & TSU, but no one else stood out enough for either consideration.

Easy choice for Max sadly the website doesn’t allow me to vote, I can make my choice press vote but then it is loading endlessly.
Restarting or logging out and in doesn’t help.

Someone has voted Hamilton – curious what reason would justify that other than blind loyalty.

Hamilton qualified and finished behind his teammate all weekend – curious what reasons Keith is going to find to avoid having to give Hamilton a bad score when scoring the drivers later this week.

    1. i think it’s Mr Will Wood who does the scores, not Keith

Sad story. I voted for Max for you.

        Thank you much appreciated

    3. I admit I didn’t like seeing hamilton not make it into the strugglers at monaco last year, but will wood proved perfectly capable of giving terrible scores to hamilton, so I would be surprised if he gets more than 4, perhaps a 3 is in order.

  10. Factually it’s undeniably max, but i gave my vote to Lando, and it includes mclaren. Never a fan of them (Ferrari tifosi here), but this is an impressive development for a team that just 2 gps ago could barely make it out of q1. A honourable mention to Vettel. I think he got everything possible out of that Aston this weekend. And George. That was an impressive drive. That Merc is not faster than Haas, yet he got him on track.

  11. Some great drives on Sunday. I gave it to Bottas because I feel he outperformed the Sauber, I almost gave it to Norris for the same reason. Other great drives include Tsunoda who is starting to look decent plus he out performed Gasly convincingly this weekend, Albon, just needs to extracts more on Saturdays, , Vettel. Not bad for his second race back and Magnussen.

Schumacher, Sainz, Ric, Latifi need to get it sorted, Zhou I’ll give him the Rookie excuse. As for Hamilton I rate the guy, Mercedes has issues and for sure he got unlucky with Ocon in the pits but Russel whooped him.

  12. 2nd weekend in a row I give it to Alexander Albon. 2nd race in a row on the back of the grid through no fault of his own, 2nd race in a row where he’s dragged it to places it shouldn’t be while keeping considerably quicker cars behind. All that time in front of Gasly & Hamilton with no DRS and in a desperately slow car? Not a single mistake, just calmly doing the maximum that car can do.

    1. True, he’s driving really well.

  13. Voted for George Russel. That was an impressive drive.

  14. Not sure it’s allowing me to vote but I went for Tsunoda. A very good effort on return to the scene of one of his biggest lows from last year, he beat Gasly every time it mattered and drove a calm and controlled race – a big step forward for him.

  15. I went with russell cause obviously majority would vote for verstappen (which is fair, he got the maximum amount of points all weekend and barely made a mistake, but he also had the clear fastest car), russell had a really bad car and made the best of the opportunities early on and then defended against faster cars later on.

I noticed norris and bottas also were voted by over 10% of people, which doesn’t surprise me as they also had good weekends and maximised the potential of their cars.

  16. Russel for me. The kid impress me driving this dog of a car. He even got pain chest not accepting to go shower in straights because of porpoising.
