  1. Nicely mixed-up grid.

  2. Good job from the Alpha Tauri’s

  3. Nice bit of fun going on with the pack racing to get through at the end of Q1 – so naturally the TV follows (safe) Hamilton trundling around all on his own.

    Yep, this is F1 broadcasting.

    1. Well, he was doing an actual push lap.

  4. Interesting to see Russell behind Hamilton the whole qualifying, getting tows off Ham, as well as a sighter.

I thought Mercedes might have reversed their order for the last quaifying run.

Did Russell give Hamilton a tow in order to get into Q3?

      1. Hamilton got a tow from Russell to get into Q3, yes. Hamilton was in a knock-out position before that final Q2 run. Good teamwork by the Mercedes drivers!

Definitely – it made perfect sense. In Q3 for the final run, you give the tow to whoever is likely to qualify highest and this weekend, that’s definitely Russell.

          1. Yes, Merc standards. Not the usual wingman strategy we see by other teams.

          2. @petebaldwin I believe Merc swaps per race. This race is Russel’s and next race you should see Hamilton getting the advantageous qualifying position, whatever that may be.

That a really good grid for the race. Lots of interesting situations to watch out for… Can Leclerc keep the Red Bull’s behind with their straight line speed, can Sainz keep up with the leading pack, what will happen with Max and Checo… Then you’ve got the Alpha Tauris and the Merecdes lurking just behind ready to pick up the pieces if anything goes wrong out front.

Really looking forward to the race tomorrow.

  6. What a lap Charles, bravo! I think Ferrari has the race pace tomorrow to win.

  7. Congratulations to Charles for a great lap again.
Is it becoming a tendency to see Perez in front of Max?
Max’s face was orange like an orange after the qualifications.
