A toss up between Lewis and Carlos.

Carlos was blazingly fast all weekend, and his recovery drive in the race was mesmerising.

On the other hand, Lewis played a few extra roles in the weekend (e.g. talent developer, parts tester), and still got a mega qualifying and outstanding race result. The way he held Peres off was very impressive.

  2. Had to go with Sainz. He was on it the entire weekend. Great pace.

  3. Went with Hamilton, great qualifying and saw off Perez in a car that was half a second quicker than is. Understand the votes for Sainz too as he had a good weekend and wasn’t to blame for his starting position. He also helped Leclerc on his pole lap too.

  4. Sainz made great use of his new engine, and it’s really too bad he got reined in towards the end. In any case, it was a very nice drive. Max was very professional again. Honorable mention goes to Leclerc’s Darth Vader breathing followed by battered Luke Skywalker “NOOOOO!” Epic.

    1. +1 I am afraid there were many drivers who can claim the best of the French Grandprix: Lewis, Carlos, Max, Magnussen.

Is it strange i went for Lewis?

I agree with the Darth Vader remark!

  5. Sainz for that q2 lap. It will be forgotten but it was an emphatic answer to the question if he has Leclercs raw pace. I guess that is Ferraris story this year—missed opportunities, squandered efforts.

  6. My vote goes to Carlos with a mention towards Lewis.

But Ferrari takes the trophy when it comes to the blunders championship. Were it not for them. Carlos might have won the race.

  7. Lewis or Carlos

  8. HAM for both DOTW & DOTD.

  9. Went for hamilton, best result for mercedes this year too, and maximised the car’s potential, obviously wouldn’t have been able to beat a non-penalty sainz or a mistake-free leclerc, but this car is still not at that level (20 sec gap from verstappen since the SC) and so you need special circumstances to get podium results; perez was simply subpar and beaten on merit easily.

I agree sainz was a candidate but I’d have liked him to stay out and get p3, I felt it was possible and a thing he has on leclerc is that he usually questions ferrari strategies and makes his own decision, was strange he didn’t here.

  10. Lewis 1st with Carlos 2nd.
Great performance by Merc after looking even further behind during qualifying.
I’d love to see Max, Charles and Lewis battling it out for a win soon.

  11. Carlos, because he had 1.5s advantage over the midfield and finished 5th with an sc

  12. Lewis, good qualifying, excellent race pace in the 3rd fastest car and smart defending against Perez.

  13. I voted for Max. He and Red Bull did a great job.
