The Ben Evans Column: The next Lewis Hamilton
Posted onAssessing the environmental impact of the 2007 F1 Championship, it is vital to consider all the trees that were cut down for the reprints of the Lewis Hamilton cash-in books which have subsequently appeared on the shelves. The Ben Evans Column: Bull
Posted onOne of the more entertaining F1 side shows of past weeks was the spat between Scott ‘not got any’ Speed and the Red Bull junior team, which has led to Speed’s departure from the Toro Rosso. The Ben Evans Column: Excuses, excuses
Posted onAt Indianapolis two weeks ago Ralf Schumacher turned left when he should have turned right and took out David Coulthard and Rubens Barrichello. His verdict? “A racing accident.” But he’s not the only driver to cook up a fabulous excuse for a shunt. Even hardened race fans like myself must have impressed with Valentino Rossi’s … Continue reading The Ben Evans Column: Excuses, excuses

Has Frank Williams found his own Hamilton?

The Ben Evans Column – Troubled touring cars
Posted onThe Bank Holiday’s absence of F1 action gave me a chance to catch up on some Touring Car action for the first time this year and to be honest it was depressing viewing. Whilst televised tin-top racing has long been flattered by clever editing and trick regulations, the big three series (BTCC, WTCC and DTM) … Continue reading The Ben Evans Column – Troubled touring cars

Macleod’s fastest lap of 1m … Continue reading British FFord Oulton: Macleod dominates

With excessive running costs (well in excess of ?âÔÇÜ?é?ú200,000 for a tilt at the title), questionable driving standards and underpowered cars with way too much grip which teach drivers little in the way of feel. But then again what’s do … Continue reading The Ben Evans Column: Age Concern
